Topiary hedges

topiary animals. I was doing a creepy Mordheim garden (still

don't have enough hedges to make a good maze...) and I knew it

needed those nifty bushes trimmed into the shapes of beasts.

The creation is simplicity itself; I bought a handful of the small

plastic animals you find at all inexpensive toy stores and using a

brush applied white glue. Then I flocked the animals, I could have

used sand instead of flock. I coated the animals twice over, and then

sealed them off with a last coat of thinned glue.

The animals were then glued to sections of cut-up sponge (but I'm not

thrilled with all of my results, next time I'll use something else).

My base coat was dark green and then I dry-brushed medium green and

then light green. Use the same colours on the animal and the

bush/stand.
